Acompaña, por una semana, a Emma, la niña que no va a la escuela y sé parte de su aprendizaje. Emma es una niña de 8 años a la cual le gusta aprender, pero su escuela es la vida misma y su salón de clases es cualquier lugar en el que está.

Estoy muy emocionada de presentarles el libro en el que estuve trabajando por un tiempo.

La niña que no va a la escuela está inspirado en mis propios niños, niños que no van a la escuela. ¿Se han fijado que casi no hay libros de niños que hagan escuela en casa?

Este libro muestra una semana en la vida de la pequeña Emma. Haciendo escuela en casa, y aprendiendo a donde quiera que va.

Espero sus niños que no van a la escuela lo disfruten.

La Niña que no va a la Escuela

Hello everyone. This is my first time trying to meal prep for a week (or five days).

Almost 2 years ago I became vegetarian, but my husband and children aren’t vegetarian. As a result I have to cook 2 different meals a lot of the time, one for them and one for me, so I thought I could save time if I meal prep my food.

Breakfast

Sunday morning I prepped oatmeal in jars (I love mason jars), oatmeal, almond milk, peanut butter and banana.

Lunch

Before going to church I put black beans and garbanzo beans in my crockpot. When I came back they where ready.

I divided the beans in three different Tupperwares, and added canned corn and tomato. 

If you cooked more beans than needed you can freeze them and use them later. 

In the evening I cooked spinach and mushrooms, very simple, and some rice.

I just needed two more meals and my five days worth of lunches would be ready.

I don’t want to meal prep for dinner because we eat together and it always is a vegetarian meal.

So that is it for this week, pretty simple and fast.

This year I really wanted to make our homeschool fun, and what is the best way of making something fun than using games?

How is this going to look for us? More games, less worksheets!!!

Math is one of our favorite subjects and the easiest to find games for. So I bought a few board games, and a curriculum to use as a guide.

For my soon to be 7 year old son I bought a beka arithmetic 3, but instead of buying the workbook I decided to buy only the test book, this way I can reduce worksheets to work on, but still have an idea of the things he «needs» to learn. For my soon to be 6 year old daughter I bought Math 2 from Easy Peasy. She did Math 1 this past year and love it so she’ll continue with this awesome curriculum, we might skip some worksheets and do games instead.

Since I have 2 kids one year apart, I decided to do Math together, especially using games, this way they can learn concepts together and my son may review some concepts from 2nd grade, even my 3 year old girl can join the fun with my help.

So, I bought A beka Arithmetic 3 Test book, EP Math 2 workbook, but what games are we using? We got

• I have… who has…? Math 2 Grades 2-3
• Money bags
• Bingo Multiplication and Division
• Farkle
• Sequence Numbers

I’ve made a lesson plan to get an idea of what they will be learning and which games we can use, and I want to share it with you.

It has been divided by weeks and days, 2nd and 3rd grade together, and above their work some games the both them can play. If you don’t have the same ones you can use similar games, it is just a guide for you and me. There is also links to some printable games.

Hi there, I’ve been working on our next language arts curriculum. After researching our options I decided to put together our own curriculum, why? Well, I have 3 kids, 2 of them will be 2nd and 3rd graders, so I could save time and effort and combine their curriculum.

So I decided to use Dr. Seuss books as an inspiration. On Monday we will read one book (we could read it every day if we want). Then we will study grammar and spelling rules inspired on the book of the week. They will even have copywork and wrting assignments. And as an extra I have added Spanish as well.

I’m so excited about this that I want to share it with you!

Through this download you will get the lesson plans, some worksheets (you will need a notebook for some assignments), and links to videos, specially for spanish.

For spanish you will learn grammar and vocabulary.

But remember, this is still a work in progress, until now I have unloaded 5 weeks worth of material and I’ll continue to add more as soon as I can. 

Besides these lesson plans you will need some Dr Seuss books, if you don’t have them check your local library!

Esta semana estudiamos la letra M

• Cómo siempre estuvimos siguiendo los días en easy peasy, la letra M se encuentra en los días 81 al 85. 

Algunas manualidades que hicimos.

• También agregué una nueva tarjeta con la letra m, todos los días repasamos los sonidos de las letras.
• Por último estuvo leyendo el libro número 3 para niños de preescolar  (k4) de la compañía «a beka«. Un libro muy sencillo que empieza repasando sonidos y luego forma sílabas y palabras de 3 letras y por último tiene una oración.

• We are using a beka readers for k4. We are on book 3.
